5/8/2020 3 Comments Surprise Richmond Engagement Session & Personal Interview with Caity Kramer PhotographyY'all today I am SO excited to finally get to share this amazing surprise engagement session along with the interview I had with the ever-so-kind Caity Kramer! This is a blog post will take you behind the scenes of her heart and practices within her photography business. It's a little long but totally worth the read! Caity and I first "met" on Instagram!! I just love how technology can allow you to do that! I saw how bright and colorful her page was and knew I needed to work with her ASAP! My friend Mason (we work together for the Army) and I started talking and planning how he was going to propose to his girlfriend Victoria and I thought how special would it be if we had a photographer there to surprise her and capture the whole thing!? Hello people! This kind of stuff really gets me going! <3 Once I got the go ahead from Mason, I messaged Caity to see if she'd be interested! It was an instant YES so all there was left to do was pick a location and date. My Go-To planner and florist friend Amy found us a beautiful new wedding venue in Richmond called Oakdale. It was beautiful! Everything fell into place perfectly! After Victoria and I picked out the colors and her dress, it was go time! I think I asked Mason if he was nervous about 15 times from the time Victoria went to get dressed to the time they started taking pictures haha oops! Maybe I was the crazy excited one? Of course he was cool and collected the whole time, real typical Mason fashion haha! There was a lot of joy and excitement during this day as you'll be about to see as you scroll down! Thank you Mason for trusting us with such a big day! Tori, thankful for being my new bff! -Jor Vendor List Photography: Caity Kramer Photography Venue: Oakdale Hair: A Beautiful Darling Makeup: Jordan Simpson Makeup Artistry Florals: Amy Marie Events Part 2: The InterviewCovid-19 couldn't stop us from doing something fun! Caity and I did a Zoom interview with each other and I have to say, it was really nice to chat about the why's and how's of business. There's a lot of good stuff so let's get started! Question 1: What is your favorite thing about your business? A: The people, hands down! If you know Caity you know this is absolutely true! She is always so joyful and truly feeds off of the people around her. She has a true heart for serving others. Question 2: If you had to describe your business in 1 word what would it be? A: Light, not just light lighting and editing but everything. The people and the brand personality. Question 3: What sets you apart from other photographers? A: Attention to detail and caring for people. Caity is there for her clients every step of the way, she walks them through the stressful parts of planning a wedding and posing. She also sends her clients information about what to wear and how to prepare for their sessions- talk about a win and stress relief! Question 4: Do you have a schedule for your client experience? A: Yes there is a method that works for her time and time again. Customized quote- check. Questionnaire- check. Love story shared- check. New friend? Yep add that in too! Question 5: What is your turn around time for weddings? A: Usually within 4 weeks, but they'll usually get them earlier than that. This was my favorite thing about working with Caity! It is my pet peeve to have to wait forever for a gallery delivery. Brides trust me, this is important! Question 6: What are your favorite parts of a wedding day? A: Getting ready and the recessional after they're officially married. You get to see the exciting and anticipating moments leading up to the big moment and see the couple directly after they are married. Really sweet moments filled with the most joy! Thank you Caity for sitting down and chatting with me about all things wedding! I just know these questions will be very helpful to brides out there looking for a photographer! Looking forward to our next event together! Jor Caity Kramer Photography
