Beauty Tip 101: Clean Your Makeup Brushes

Picture
Okay Ladies, we all know we should do it, but we just don't like taking the time. You guessed it, today we're talking about cleaning our Makeup Brushes.

The dreaded task that looms over us each time we go to put on makeup and we notice how dirty and packed full of product they are. Yuck!

When we go too long without washing our makeup brushes, it can actually be more impactful to our skin than we initially think. After being used time and time again, germs and oil can pile up on the bristles making our skin more prone to breakouts and can cause our pores to become larger. Every girl's nightmare!

So, today I wanted to leave some hints and tricks so our brushes no longer stay dirty, oily, and germy!

To help fight against dirty brushes, here are 3 easy tricks you can do regularly!

1-  Try washing your brushes with soap and warm water every 2-3 weeks. To make it easier, sometimes I will wash them with my facewash right after I just washed my face. That way, I'm already in the bathroom and the right products are already out.

2- If my skin seems to be breaking out more often, I try washing my brushes more regularly. You might be spreading the oils and contamination against your skin each time you put on makeup and sanitizing your tools could be a big help in preventing that! If you use a sponge to apply your makeup, you'll want to clean that more because it's so porous and can hold a lot more bacteria.

3- If you want to do a quick clean more often, a sanitizing alcohol in a spray bottle works beautifully! Sally's Beauty Supply has a Cherry scented alcohol that I love to use to clean my brushes. It makes them smell good and does an overall good job cleaning them. This is also my go to product at weddings when I need to clean tools quick from client to client.
I'll link it below!

I hope these little tricks help! And remember, don't let too much time pass without giving some TLC to your makeup brushes!
