Of course I am a little biased, but the warmth of copper hair, naturally luminous skin, and soft freckles create a beauty that doesn’t need to be covered—it simply needs to be thoughtfully enhanced. For this August wedding at the iconic Willard InterContinental Hotel in Washington, DC, the bride wanted exactly that: soft, feminine bridal makeup with delicate pink hues that felt like her.

As a Washington, DC bridal makeup artist specializing in natural, luxury bridal beauty, this is one of my favorite kinds of transformations: creating a polished bridal look while allowing the bride’s natural features to remain the focus.

For this August celebration, the bride’s soft pink makeup complemented the romantic atmosphere of the day without feeling overly styled. Her beauty remained feminine and fresh, allowing the gown, flowers, setting, and most importantly, her to tell the story.

The goal wasn’t dramatic makeup. It was beautiful skin, softly defined eyes, flushed cheeks, and a feminine pink lip—the kind of makeup that looks effortless in person while photographing beautifully throughout the wedding day.
